Language and translations

The Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer on matplant.org may be available in languages other than English for convenience only.

The English version is the original and legally controlling version. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between a translation and the English text, the English version prevails.

Some or all translated text may be produced using automated translation tools and may contain errors or inaccuracies.

The Service

The Service provides information and community features about plants, including optional registration, chat, forums, and related content. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued without notice.

Service availability, termination, and paid features

Matplant.org is an online service. We aim to run it reliably, but we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or perpetual availability. The website, servers, infrastructure, games (such as quiz modes), optional uploads, and any other part of the Service may be modified, limited, suspended, taken offline, or discontinued—in whole or in part—with or without prior notice, for operational, technical, legal, financial, or other reasons.

Fees or payments (for example by card where offered, or in cryptocurrency such as BBLU) buy a limited right to use specific Service features through your account for as long as we choose to make those features available. They do not purchase ownership of the Service, its software, content, branding, or infrastructure, and they are not an investment in matplant.org.

If we wind down or discontinue the Service or a feature, your access may end. Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, you understand that payments are not a guarantee of lifetime access, unchanged functionality, or compensation if access ends.

We may also suspend or terminate accounts or access for misuse, security, legal compliance, or operational necessity, in line with these Terms and applicable law.

Accounts and conduct

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate registration information where required. You agree not to misuse the Service—for example by harassing others, posting unlawful content, attempting to break security, or overloading systems.

Your content

You retain rights to content you submit, but you grant matplant.org a non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service. You confirm you have the right to grant this licence. We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, matplant.org and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss arising from use of the Service or reliance on its content—including information about plants, nutrition, traditional uses, identification, or edibility.

You are solely responsible for your own decisions about health, safety, plant identification, and lawful use of plants. Nothing on the Service replaces advice from qualified professionals. See our Disclaimer for health and safety-related limitations.

Where mandatory law applies, liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death, or personal injury caused by negligence cannot be excluded or limited by these Terms.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of matplant.org, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction may have exclusive competence unless mandatory consumer protections say otherwise.
